By far, these are some of the best ear plugs I have found for the money. They block most noise, are quite comfortable, and may be used more than once before disposal.

These earplugs are marginally better than any other earplugs I've tried (and I've tried A LOT). But, they are also significantly more expensive. For me, I think it's worth it -- my ceiling is paper thin so when the neighbors above me get out of bed in the morning it sounds like a elephant stampede above me. But, if your need is not so extreme, then I think it is much more prudent to go with cheaper earplugs, many of which are still quite effective, which you can buy in packs of 50 for a lower price. If you need the best, however, these are the way to go.

These are by far the best plugs I have ever tried. Some of the reviewers are a bit unrealistic. No plugs ca keep all the sound out but these are pretty effective. I combined them with noise canceling earphones and and was able to sleep on an airplane for the first time (in conjunction with sleep cushions I also bought on Amazon (see other review). Great product.
A bit too big for my ears January 2, 2010

The soundproofing is fine, but they actually make my ears hurt after a while when inserted properly because the diameter is too big. Of course this may not be a problem for you. However, I found that the normal Hearos Ultimate Softness, 20-Pair Foam (Pack of 2)(the tan colored ones) work just fine for me and block sound very well if used properly.
