Works Unbelievably WELL September 10, 2010

I can't believe how long it keeps my iced tea cold. I still have ice in my mug at the end of the day. It works unbelievably well.

Only using this for coffee, but it really keeps it hot on the inside for hours, and cool on the outside, just like it supposed to. I lost my old Nissan thermos which worked great and recently bought a Cuisinart stainless steel one to replace. But the first time I used it, I realized it held less liquid and the outside got warm. Guess what, if the outside is warm, the inside is getting cold quicker. The Thermos brand is a great upgrade. Pricier than Cuisinart, but you get what you pay for. I also like the metal band around the outside, no taste unlike the normal plastic ones. The only downside is the weight, a little heavier than by old Nissan and a lot heavier than the Cuisinart. Again, it's all in the materials they use. Great product.

I would have rated this Thermos travel mug five stars had it not been for the lousy paint application on an otherwise outstanding product. The midnight blue coating has started to peel off after only a few weeks of use and careful hand washing in only warm water and mild detergent (the instructions say it can be washed in a dishwasher, but I would not recommend it). I would have preferred just the uncoated stainless steel finish to the mess now covering the mug. Aside from that, the mug is very well made, attractive and keeps liquids hot for over ten hours (honest!). I would recommend this travel mug with the caveat that the pretty blue finish might not be there very long.

Actually good for both cold and hot liquids, read coffee and beer....... above everything else this is a TRULY NON SPILL MUG. glad the Thermos brand is still a name you can trust.
